ABOUT CARA MOORE

Born in New Mexico, raised in the West Texas desert, Cara Moore developed a love of color and light. Although inspired by the beauty of the desert, Moore moved to attend Sam Houston State University, where she studied painting and sculpture, then went on to the Art Institute of Houston to develop her education and focus on advertising.
Moore began her career in Galveston as a designer for Yagas clothing. After four years, she left to establish 'cmoore studio' in an 1891 firehouse, which she restored for residence and workspace.
Today, cmoore studio specializes in logos, murals, site-specific installations, and concept development to the hospitality industry. Project highlights include neckties for Rudy Tomjonavich, hall of fame coach for the Houston Rockets. She developed "Commedia dell'arte" murals for Grottos ristorante of Tony Vallone's fame.
In 2002, Moore traveled to Italy to study Byzantine mosaic, adding tile installation to her lists of skills. Then, after Hurricane Ike, Moore turned her focus to exterior rehabilitation and interior design. She transformed Condo di Cocco, inside and out, making it the number one vacation rental for Vacasa on Galveston Island.
Moore is currently working on a line of photo transfers of the first nudes ever published, transforming them into archetypal women, divas, deities, and damsels. Moore calls them "The Janes." She currently resides on Galveston Island.
